Recent Work by Angela Stead, Graham Hewitt, and Lee Stevenson

An exhibition at the Salthouse Gallery, St. Ives, Cornwall
Exhibition open 10am - 5pm
Easter Sunday 5 April - Friday 10 April 2015

Over Easter week The Salthouse Gallery, St.Ives is showing work by 3 artists who meet regularly for life-drawing at The Band Room in Penzance. Following a successful show at The Salthouse two years ago, Graham Hewitt is again showing a series of his sensitive life-studies in watercolour.

Angela Stead is well known for her lively, sometimes humorous, but always unmistakable style of drawing. Here she is showing some landscapes and life studies in pastel and watercolour that are full of her characteristic use of bold line and colour.

Lee Stevenson, best known as a printmaker, is showing some of his recent landscape work in oils. Also on show are his woodcuts and monoprints based on life drawings from The Band Room. The Show opens on Easter Sunday 4th April and runs until the following Friday.

Located about 100m from the St Ives Tate Gallery, The Salthouse Gallery was founded in 1979 by poet, artist and librettist Bob Devereux. It closed as an art gallery in 2010 while remaining available as a central venue to hire for exhibitions, with the St Ives Society of Artists and The St Ives School of Painting both very close by.
