I agree. Like music and poetry at their best, drawing is an adventure, a journey towards knowledge and experience about the connectedness of things within themselves, with their surroundings and crucially with the self. If it lacks these qualities, or if it does not at least aspire to some of them, it will lack meaning, both as an activity and as an end result.
